Pinot Gris – Sélection de Grains Nobles

Sometimes a mushroom called botrytis cinera get developped on the grapes, Some drops like honey weep from the grapes. One part of the water is lost  so the grapes get very concentraded in sugar, acid and flavours. This concentration gives a deep golden colour to the wine and makes that this wine can age for several decades.

Thanks this naturel phenomenon VENDANGES TARDIVES and SECTIONS DE GRAINS NOBLES have been produced in Alsace for several centuries, The Appellation  is recent.

This golden wine will get amber shade by aging. To enjoy really this very concentate wine it should be drunk like a nectar.
